This workbook is a kanji textbook designed to accompany the Minna no Nihongo Elementary II Third Edition Main Textbook. Following the vocabulary and sentence patterns taught in the main textbook, learners can systematically and comfortably acquire 312 kanji commonly used in everyday life.

The kanji are introduced progressively, making them easy to learn step by step. Each lesson is divided into Step 1 and Step 2:
• Step 1: 9 kanji per lesson
• Step 2: 15 kanji per lesson
This flexible structure allows instructors and learners to adjust the number of kanji studied according to individual needs, such as using only Step 1 or completing both Steps 1 and 2.

Step 1 (117 kanji)
• Kanji roughly equivalent to JLPT N4 level
• Designed so that learners from non-kanji backgrounds and those in short-term courses can acquire kanji through easy-to-understand sentences set in familiar situations and contexts.
Step 2 (195 kanji)
• Frequently used kanji roughly equivalent to JLPT N3 and N2 levels
• Enables learners to develop a higher level of kanji proficiency than in Step 1 and serves as a bridge to intermediate-level Japanese study.
• As a typical lesson sequence, learners first study the shape, on-yomi, and kun-yomi readings of the kanji using the Kanji Sheets. They then reinforce what they have learned through Reading Practice and Writing Practice activities.
• In addition, learners can check their progress with Review Tests provided every six or seven lessons, as well as with the Comprehensive Test at the end of the book.
• Since all pages are perforated, they can be easily detached and used individually. They may also be kept as part of a learner portfolio for future reference. In addition to classroom use, the workbook is well suited for homework assignments and tests.
