This book aims at cultivating the skills necessary to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in a short period of time.

The book is structured so that first the vocabulary is presented in list form according to its part of speech, i.e., verb, noun, adjective, and adverb, and this is followed by practice exercises. Hints are also given with the exercises.

Giving consideration to the style of the questions in the test, there are three types of practice questions: (1) matching a word with the contents of a sentence, (2) selecting the correct usage of a word, and (3) long form questions. This format has been selected as the optimum way for overall study before the exam.
