This book is a revised version of Kiku Toreningu ＜Chokai/Chodokkai＞ Kisohen (Listening Training [Listening and Listening while Reading] Basic Edition for the EJU) (published in 2006).

This book is aimed at Japanese language learners who are between the upper beginner and lower intermediate levels. While learning how to distinguish between similar sounds and listening to vocabulary in speech, the learner can move on to focus on listening for important points using listening-comprehension and listening-reading strategies. The learner can also attempt questions in the same format as the EJU.
This book is recommended not only for those preparing for exams, but also for those who want to improve their listening and reading skills.

Main revisions:
・The previously included audio CD is no longer available, and the audio can now be listened to online.
・Some of the vocabulary and expressions to be studied have been revised.
・Vietnamese has been added to the translations.
